Deck circulation and exterior command

The 2024 Northwest 55 combines a Portuguese bridge, flybridge helm, cockpit helm station and side-deck access doors from the pilothouse. Stainless-steel railings surround the boat deck, foredeck and Portuguese bridge, while the Portuguese bridge incorporates a central seat and storage locker.

The foredeck carries a Maxwell RC2500 vertical windlass, an 88 lb Rocna anchor and 400 feet of 3/8-inch high-test galvanized chain. Freshwater and seawater washdowns serve the foredeck, and bow and stern thrusters complement the anchoring arrangement.

The aft cockpit includes a cabinet with a solid-surface counter, stainless-steel sink and extendable hot-and-cold sprayer. A swim-platform extension, transom and port-side gates, a large lazarette hatch, flybridge barbecue cabinet and underwater lighting further shape the exterior layout.

Pilothouse and navigation

The pilothouse centers on a custom 30-inch wood steering wheel, Pompanette Platinum Series helm chair and black solid-surface dash with glare screen. Garmin navigation equipment, electronic engine and shift controls, Optimus steering and a searchlight system support the helm installation.

Three tempered-glass forward windows, three windshield wipers with washers and dimmable overhead LED lighting serve the pilothouse. An L-shaped settee with hi-low table converts to a berth, while port and starboard doors give direct access to the side decks.

Engineering and onboard systems

Twin John Deere 6068 AFM75 electronic diesel engines produce 330 hp each and connect to ZF 360 transmissions with a 2.5:1 ratio. A stand-up engine room places the machinery between stainless-steel safety rails and incorporates sound damping, LED lighting, a Seafire/Firebox fire-suppression system and dual Racor 75/900 fuel filtration.

The fuel system holds 1,200 US gallons in two 600-gallon FRP tanks. A Northern Lights 16 kW generator, 4,000-watt 24 VDC inverter charger, AGM battery banks and two Glendinning Cablemaster systems support onboard electrical service.

Wesmar fin stabilizers, a Cruiseair 50,000 BTU split reverse-cycle air-conditioning system and an ISO Boost transformer form part of the yacht’s mechanical and climate-control equipment. The freshwater system carries 300 gallons in two tanks and includes a 30-gallon hot-water tank, pressure pump, accumulator tank and shoreside connection.

Salon, galley and private quarters

Cherry flooring runs through the salon and pilothouse, where tinted salon windows, hardwood trim, a portside L-shaped settee and a hardwood hi-low table define the main living area. A Samsung 40-inch television rises from the entertainment cabinet, and the salon connects directly to the cockpit through a Diamond Sea Glaze door.

The galley combines solid-surface counters and backsplash with a GE Profile Smart induction range featuring four cooking zones and a convection oven. A 30-inch bottom-freezer refrigerator, microwave, stainless-steel sink, pull-out hardwood pantry and Broan Elite trash compactor complete the galley equipment.

The master stateroom contains a queen berth with drawer storage, cedar-lined hanging lockers, a built-in seat and a Samsung 32-inch television. The VIP stateroom also contains a queen berth with drawer storage, cedar-lined lockers and side cabinets. Two heads feature Tecma electric toilets, FRP shower stalls with glass doors, solid-surface counters and Grohe fixtures; heated flooring extends through the galley, guest and owner-suite heads.

Tender handling

A Steelhead ES1100 davit is fitted on the boat deck. An AB 12-foot inflatable tender with side-console steering accompanies the yacht, along with a white Tohatsu outboard motor.
