Vessel overview
The Contender Gap Tower gives the 2023 Contender 44 CB a second drive station above the main helm, with a 12-inch Garmin display, joystick control, electric-reel plugs and speakers. Three Mercury Verado V12 outboards, rated at 600 hp each, provide 1,800 hp in total, while joystick control is fitted at the helm arrangement.
Dual 24-inch Garmin multifunction displays combine radar, sonar, chartplotting and autopilot functions at the principal helm. A custom rear-facing Garmin display is set into the hardtop, extending access to navigation information beyond the forward-facing console.
The deck is arranged around fish boxes, tackle stowage and multiple livewell positions. Three transom livewells hold approximately 45 gallons each, while an in-deck livewell and plumbing for an additional on-deck bow well expand the bait-handling layout.
A Best Marine XL livewell pump box uses six pumps with high-speed pickups. Gemlux carbon-fiber outriggers, rod holders and cleats complement the fishing hardware, while electric-reel plugs at the tower place dedicated connections at the elevated station.
The console cabin incorporates a berth, sink, electric head and 12V air conditioning. Rear-facing mezzanine seating forms a dedicated cockpit seating area, with a large cooler beneath the seat.
Removable ISAN glass wings add enclosure around the helm area. The 600-gallon fuel tank supports extended time away from the dock, and the fiberglass Deep Vee hull incorporates a stepped-hull design.
A Seakeeper 3 gyrostabilizer is installed aboard the Contender 44 CB. An electric windlass handles the anchor system, while under-gunwale, underwater, spreader and hardtop lighting provide illumination across the boat.
The JL Audio sound system includes speakers and subwoofers throughout the yacht, including concealed under-gunwale speakers. Speaker lighting completes the evening deck lighting arrangement.
