Three-cabin catamaran living

The 2022 Fountaine Pajot Tanna 47 carries a three-cabin layout with three electric heads, slatted bed bases, cabin and salon privacy curtains, and seven Caframo Sirocco II 12V multi-speed fans distributed through the cabins and salon.

The salon combines an Isotherm two-drawer refrigerator, a separate Isotherm freezer, a retractable Samsung HDTV, and a Fusion multi-zone Bluetooth touchscreen stereo with integrated Bose speakers and subwoofer. The galley is fitted with a three-burner Airlux LPG stove and Airlux LPG oven, while the cockpit adds a Vitrifrigo refrigerator/freezer, Raritan ice maker, transom gas grill, and hot-and-cold deck shower.

Dometic air conditioning provides 40,000 BTU of capacity with digital thermostats in each cabin. A Splendide all-in-one washer/dryer and an Aqua Base ESW601 watermaker rated at 65 litres per hour extend the onboard utility systems.

Power and connected systems

The electrical installation includes a 900Ah 12.8V LiFePO4 house battery bank, 1,700W of integrated walk-on solar panels, a Victron MultiPlus 2000W charger/inverter, Victron battery-management components, and 50A shore power. USB and NEMA 5-15 outlets serve the cabins and salon, while a waterproof dual USB charging socket is fitted at the helm.

Starlink Marine internet is mounted aboard, and the navigation suite includes a Garmin 8410 chartplotter at the helm, a Garmin 8412 chartplotter in the salon, Garmin Fantom 18 radar, AIS 800, VHF 315 Class D DSC radio, and a Reactor 40 hydraulic autopilot. Garmin wind and depth/speed/temperature transducers feed the onboard instrumentation.

Sail plan and deck equipment

The sail wardrobe includes a full-batten Dacron square-top mainsail with three reefing points and lazy jacks, a Dacron genoa on a ProFurl furler, and a North Sails Helix top-down Code Zero on a continuous-line furler at the factory bowsprit. Lewmar manual and electric self-tailing winches are arranged at the helm, including a dedicated electric gennaker winch.

The deck layout features synthetic teak across the cockpit, sundeck lounge, side decks, and foredeck. A full cockpit and helm enclosure with sunscreen shades, together with a Sunbrella helm bimini on a stainless-steel frame, provides sheltered exterior space. An H+B Technics hydraulic tender/swim platform includes a manual override.

The anchoring arrangement comprises a Quick 1,500W electric windlass with wired remote and helm chain counter, a 40kg Rocna galvanized anchor, 200 feet of 3/8-inch chain, and 150 feet of rode. Rod holders are fitted on both sugar scoops.

Propulsion, tender, and onboard support

Twin Volvo Penta D2-60F 60hp diesel engines drive through Volvo Penta 150S-D saildrives with three-blade folding propellers and line cutters. Each engine has an MDI-box emergency-start bypass switch.

A Highfield CL380 tender is paired with a Yamaha 25hp outboard. The cockpit also incorporates a Bauer Oceanis dive compressor, fill station, four aluminium dive tanks, and dedicated tank holders.
