Vessel overview
The 2021 Amel 60 combines a deep cockpit with a composite hardtop, glass forward and side screens, an opening central screen section, two roof hatches and a rigid opening sunroof. The port-side helm station places the wheel, navigation electronics and electric controls for the engine, windlass and furling systems together at the console.
An adjustable Doussie cockpit table incorporates an icebox, while dimmable LED wheelhouse lighting supports the space after dark. Teak finishes extend across the gangways, cockpit, foredeck and aft deck, and the self-bailing cockpit is framed by stainless-steel rails and guard lines.
The hydraulic transom opens to form a swimming platform with a folding ladder, mixing-tap shower, step stowage and folding cleats. A large aft-deck sunbathing area, a 2.60-metre carbon gangway and substantial fore and aft lockers complete the exterior arrangement.
A carbon mast carries electric in-mast furling, while the aluminium boom works with a hydraulic clew-sheeting system and adjustable rigid downhaul. Dyform stainless-steel standing rigging, Vectran and Dyneema halyards, and three sets of spreaders form the rig package.
The sail plan includes tri-radial Hydranet mainsail and genoa sails with UV protection. Electric genoa furling, two electric Harken Performa genoa-sheet winches, an electric Harken Performa mainsheet winch and electric mainsheet control bring the principal sail controls to the cockpit.
The anchoring arrangement includes a cockpit-controlled electric windlass, a 50 kg Lewmar Delta anchor and 100 metres of 12 mm galvanised chain. The foredeck sail locker is separated by a collision bulkhead and provides access to the chain locker, bow-thruster compartment and stowage for fenders, lines and additional sails.
A Volvo Penta D4-175 four-cylinder diesel delivers 175 hp through a hydraulic gearbox, shaft transmission and folding propeller. An Aquadrive anti-vibration system, retractable proportional bow thruster and 900-litre diesel capacity form part of the propulsion installation.
The engine room sits below the cockpit sole and includes sound insulation, lighting, a 230 V socket, a bilge pump and 24 V ventilation for the engine and battery compartments. A 17.5 kW generator, 920 Ah lithium service bank, twin 4,000 W inverters, shore-power connection and 525 W hardtop solar array support the electrical system.
The navigation suite combines a B&G H5000 Triton Edge central unit with displays at the navigation station and cockpit, a Furuno GP330 GPS, ICOM VHF and Furuno Navpilot 711C hydraulic autopilot. Alarm functions cover the main seawater inlet, aft locker, engine room, grey-water level, saloon smoke detection and battery status.
The saloon brings together an eight-place dining table, L-shaped seating, a central drinks cabinet, television screen and Fusion Apollo sound system with separate saloon and cockpit/aft-sundeck zones. Four opening hatches, six fixed roof portlights and four large hull portlights bring natural light into the main living space.
A port-side navigation station includes a chart table, electronics panel, swivelling navigator’s seat, induction phone charger and access to 24 V and 230 V power. The starboard galley is fitted with Corian work surfaces, a double sink, Miele induction hob, microwave, electric oven, dishwasher, 180-litre refrigerated drawers, 80-litre freezer and LG washer-dryer.
Two forward double cabins each have dedicated bathroom facilities, separate showers and electric freshwater vacuum toilets. The aft cabin centres on a double berth and includes extensive stowage, a port-side vanity, hull and roof portlights, opening hatches and an en-suite bathroom with separate shower.
