A sheltered pilothouse and capable control stations

The 2016 Krogen 52 places its pilothouse a few steps above the main deck, with a wide, low helm console, two LeBroc helm chairs, an L-shaped Ultraleather settee and a folding pedestal table. The settee converts to a double watch berth, while port and starboard Dutch doors open directly to the side decks.

The Portuguese bridge carries twin wing stations, and the helm arrangement includes hydraulic bow and stern thrusters, ABT hydraulic stabilizers, ZF Mathers Cruise Command four-station engine controls and Teleflex hydraulic steering. Furuno navigation equipment includes black-box navigation units, a DRS6A NXT open-array radar, NavPilot autopilot, GPS/WAAS receivers, depth instrumentation, Class B+ AIS and a wind/weather sensor.

The flybridge adds a Furuno TZ Touch 14-inch plotter, autopilot display, VHF, engine controls, thruster controls and windlass control. Dual LeBroc chairs, a settee, a fiberglass table and a Sunbrella bimini with roll-down side and aft shades complete the upper-deck helm area.

Living spaces finished in teak, cherry and granite

The saloon connects with the teak aft deck through dual weathertight aluminum doors with a retractable screen. A starboard U-shaped settee incorporates storage and surrounds a cherry hi-lo table, while two reclining chairs sit to port beside a bookcase and bar.

Five large opening windows bring ventilation into the saloon. A 48-inch Samsung UHD Smart TV rises on a lift behind the settee, with Apple TV and a Blu-Ray player integrated into the entertainment arrangement.

The forward starboard galley is separated from the saloon by a custom granite counter and backsplash. Two Sub-Zero refrigerator drawers, two Sub-Zero freezer drawers, a Blue Star four-burner stove/oven, GE microwave/convection oven, GE dishwasher and Elkay double-basin stainless-steel sink form the principal appliance suite. A pantry and buffet cabinet occupy the port side, and an aluminum Dutch door gives the galley direct side-deck access.

Three-cabin accommodation

The forward master stateroom centers on an island king berth, with four opening stainless-steel ports and two overhead hatches fitted with Oceanair Skyscreens. Deep berth drawers, pneumatic-lift storage, two hanging lockers and a seven-drawer dresser provide dedicated stowage.

The master ensuite includes a stall shower with glass door and molded seat, a granite-topped vanity, Grohe fixtures and a Dometic freshwater toilet. The starboard guest stateroom has a walk-around queen berth, under-berth drawers, pneumatic-lift storage and two opening ports.

The guest head has direct access from the guest stateroom and the companionway, with a separate shower stall, granite-topped vanity and Dometic toilet. A port-side den converts to an additional sleeping space with a pull-out settee and Pullman berth, while separate Bosch washer and dryer units sit in the companionway.

Onboard utility and deck equipment

Twin Tier III John Deere 4045TFM85 engines are paired with ZF Marine gears, and a Northern Lights 12 kW generator with sound shield and hydraulic PTO supports onboard systems. A Mastervolt 4,000-watt inverter/charger, 3,000-watt backup inverter, Firefly carbon-foam house bank and four 165-watt solar panels form the electrical arrangement.

A Parker Village Marine STW-800 watermaker, whole-boat carbon water filtration, CruiseAir reverse-cycle air conditioning and a Hurricane H2E diesel hydronic heater serve the interior. Four aluminum fuel tanks carry a stated total capacity of 1,400 gallons, while two stainless-steel water tanks carry a stated total capacity of 400 gallons.

The foredeck carries two Maxwell hydraulic vertical windlasses, a Vulcan 55 anchor with 300 feet of G4 chain and a Fortress F80 anchor with chain and nylon rode. A Steelhead ES1000 electric-hydraulic davit handles the AB 12 VSX RIB tender, which carries a 30 hp Yamaha outboard, Garmin chartplotter and Standard Horizon VHF.
