Teak, black topsides and a flexible forward lounge

The 2014 Hinckley Talaria 29C pairs Jet Black Awlgrip HDT topsides and a white boot stripe, both completed in 2023, with a Light Cream molded non-skid deck. A varnished teak transom, teak-capped cockpit coamings, teak toe rail and varnished teak helm dash establish a warm contrast throughout the exterior.

The forward cockpit arranges wraparound cushioned seating for five above three storage lockers. A varnished teak electric hi-lo pedestal table and hinged fill cushion convert this area into a sun lounge.

The aft cockpit adds a forward-facing settee for three with under-seat storage, while the engine box carries aft-facing seating for two. A fiberglass swim platform with teak inserts, a folding three-step stainless-steel swim ladder and a transom-mounted tow eye extend the space aft.

Jet propulsion and integrated helm control

The Talaria 29C is powered by a 435-hp Volvo D6 electronic common-rail diesel with a Hamilton 292 jet drive and Twin Disc ZF IRM220PL transmission. The engine-hour meter records 485 hours.

Hinckley JetStick II integrates steering, forward and aft motion, and the 5-inch reversible bow thruster through a single joystick control, with Heading Hold in Power Steer and Docking modes. The helm also includes single-lever Volvo clutch and throttle control, trim-tab controls, a jet steering-angle indicator, engine instrumentation and a Ritchie compass.

The insulated engine box has an electric lift, baffled insulated air intake, lead-lined foam insulation and double cover gaskets. The engine compartment has an automatic fire-suppression system with automatic engine shutdown.

Garmin navigation suite

The 2026 helm electronics suite centers on a Garmin GPSMAP 9217xsv chartplotter/sonar combination. A Garmin GMR 18 xHD3 radome, GPS 24xd NMEA 2000 sensor, Garmin card reader and Airmar B60 depth-and-temperature transducer complement the display.

The navigation installation also includes a Garmin GHP Reactor mechanical/retrofit/solenoid autopilot corepack and a Standard Horizon GX1600 VHF radio. A fiberglass T-top carries the radome, antennas, horn, anchor light and aft halogen deck light.

Practical deck equipment

The engine-box top incorporates a 12-volt refrigerated insulated cooler and a molded sink with pressurized freshwater. A second insulated cooler/locker sits beneath the console’s forward seat, and a freshwater shower is fitted in the starboard aft cockpit.

The steering console houses a lockable head compartment with a VacuFlush marine head, opening port, dome light and main breaker panel. The yacht carries a 10-gallon holding tank.

Fishing equipment includes rod holders on both side decks and Rupp under-gunwale racks that hold two rods per side. The foredeck anchor locker contains a Muir electric windlass, folding anchor roller, polished stainless-steel Delta anchor, 15 feet of chain and 150 feet of rode.

Electrical and tank systems

The 12-volt electrical system includes a 2024 AGM Group 31 starting battery, a 2024 210-amp-hour 4D house battery, heavy-duty battery switches with emergency parallel capability, and an 80-amp alternator. A Xantrex True Charge battery charger was fitted in 2023.

The Talaria 29C carries two 50-gallon polyethylene fuel tanks and a 20-gallon polyethylene water tank. Two 1,500-gph electric bilge pumps with float switches and a cockpit-locker-mounted Whale emergency bilge pump serve the bilge system.
