Vessel overview
The 2014 Grand Banks 46 Eastbay SX pairs a galley-down arrangement with a broad main salon, keeping the principal social space on one level with the helm. A U-shaped settee to port and a long bench settee to starboard frame a satin-varnished teak table with opening leaves and an inlaid compass rose, while storage is integrated beneath the seating.
A powered center aft window opens between the salon and cockpit. The cockpit carries opposing upholstered settees, perimeter courtesy lighting, storage cabinets at the aft end of the superstructure, a canvas-covered fixed bimini, and a sole hatch for access to mechanical spaces and fender storage.
The pilothouse combines a dark-blue Ultraleather STIDD helm chair with an elevated port settee, navigation desk, and folding footrest. Teak trim, overhead handrails, a powered overhead hatch with shade and screen, and reverse-cycle air-conditioning distribution complete the space.
Twin Cummins QSC 8.3L diesel engines, rated at 600 hp each, drive the Zeus pod system with counter-rotating propellers, electric-hydraulic steering, trim tabs, autopilot, and Skyhook. Cummins VesselView instrumentation provides engine data at the helm.
The helm electronics suite includes two Raymarine eS127 12-inch multifunction displays, a Raymarine 4 kW Super HD open-array radar, an RS150 GPS sensor, a CP-370 sounder module, an ICOM VHF with RAM microphone and loudhailer, and a Ritchie compass. An ACR spotlight is mounted on the pilothouse roof and controlled remotely from the helm.
An Onan 11.5 kW generator, Mastervolt MassCombi 12/2500-100 inverter, Mastervolt 12/100-3 charger, and Glendinning CM7 shore-power system form the electrical installation. A Cradlepoint dual-cell router supplies onboard Wi-Fi.
The U-shaped port galley features satin-finished teak cabinetry, a double-drawer Waeco refrigerator, Waeco freezer, range, stainless-steel sink, opening portlight, and dedicated locker storage. A Wine Enthusiast cooler sits beneath the port pilothouse settee.
A below-deck utility compartment between the port navigation area and starboard helm adds a Vitrifrigo refrigerator, sliding-door cabinets, and adjustable shelving. The compartment creates a separate stowage area without intruding on the main salon.
The forward owner’s cabin centers on a queen berth and includes cedar-lined hanging lockers, drawers, bookshelves, an overhead hatch, opening ports, reading lamps, and private access to its head. The en suite head has a Corian counter, storage, an opening hatch and portlight, plus a separate shower stall with a bifold door and slatted teak seat.
The starboard guest cabin contains two single berths, a hanging locker, storage, an opening portlight, and private access to the guest/day head. The guest/day head is accessible from both the companionway and guest cabin and includes a white undermount sink, storage, a teak-slatted sole, and shower curtain track.
The foredeck is fitted with a Maxwell VWC 1500 windlass with capstan, polished stainless-steel Ultra anchor, anchor roller, and pulpit. Stainless-steel cabin-top handrails, line chocks, mooring cleats, deck scuppers, and an outboard-draining transom locker serve the exterior arrangement.
A Freedom hydraulic dinghy lift is installed at the stern. The mechanical installation also includes Racor fuel filtration, Groco seawater strainers, a Groco oil-change pump, Delta T engine-room ventilation, a Fireboy automatic engine-room fire-extinguishing system, Rule bilge pumps, a high-water bilge alarm, and a Whale emergency bilge pump.
Marine Air air conditioning uses 16,000 and 12,000 BTU units in the main salon and a 16,000 BTU unit for the forward cabins. The freshwater system includes a 145-gallon aluminum tank, Seagull IV freshwater purification, and a 20-gallon Seaward water heater.
