Carbon Rig and Sail Plan

The 2009 Catana 65 carries a LORIMA carbon mast with textile rigging and a carbon-fiber forward cross structure comprising the longeron, crossbeam and gull striker. This lightweight forward rig structure complements the yacht’s high bridge-deck clearance and catamaran configuration.

The sail inventory includes an approximately 135-square-metre mainsail, a self-tacking solent, a large genoa/screecher and an asymmetric spinnaker. Six electric winches support sail handling across the yacht’s various sail plans.

Deck Systems and Underwater Arrangement

The Catana 65 uses twin Volvo Penta D3-150 engines with direct-drive propulsion. Straight propeller shafts run through skegs rather than saildrives.

Fuel tanks are installed in cockpit lockers aft of the mast-foot locker area. The yacht carries approximately 400 gallons of fuel, 211 gallons of water and 122 gallons of holding-tank capacity.

Light-Filled Interior Arrangement

The starboard owner’s hull incorporates a master cabin with a walk-in closet. A large bathroom with a walk-in shower occupies the former forward starboard cabin area, creating a dedicated owner’s suite arrangement.

Light teak-and-holly flooring, real-wood veneer, brushed-aluminium trim, Corian surfaces and leather finishes shape the interior. The accommodation arrangement includes three double cabins, an en-suite skipper’s cabin and a crew cabin in the port forepeak with air conditioning.
