Carbon sailing structure and naval architecture

The 2006 Royal Huisman 105 combines Philippe Briand naval architecture with Pieter Beeldsnijder interior design. The aluminum monohull follows a moderate-displacement form with a performance keel inspired by America’s Cup design.

The yacht’s mast, boom and deep spade-rudder assembly are constructed in carbon fiber. A 104.99-foot length overall, 24.38-foot beam and 12.96-foot minimum draft define the principal dimensions.

Deckhouse connection and navigation

The deckhouse extends the main cockpit beneath cover, with push-button sliding side windows opening the enclosed area to the deck. The forward end of the deckhouse contains a dedicated navigation area with navigation and communication equipment.

The flush deck keeps hardware integrated into the yacht’s profile through pop-up cleats and concealed hatch hinges. Built-in sunbathing beds and generous lounging areas shape the exterior arrangement.

Owner and guest accommodation

The aft accommodation includes a full-width owner’s cabin and two guest cabins, while an additional single guest cabin sits forward beside the entertainment lounge. A dayhead serves the interior arrangement.

The yacht’s interior pairs limed oak with custom nickel-finish fittings and natural-toned soft furnishings. A large open galley lies forward of the lounge, and the midships engine room provides standing headroom.

Crew spaces and waterside access

The crew area includes a dinette with direct deck access and two forward crew cabins with separate bathrooms. The yacht has four cabins and two crew cabins.

An articulated carbon-fiber swim platform folds from the transom and leads to the tender garage and watersports stowage. The 2006 Royal Huisman 105 is located in Newport, Rhode Island.

The yacht carries a Scania DI 12 65M engine rated at 424 hp. Fuel capacity is 2,266.07 gallons, freshwater capacity is 469.43 gallons, and holding-tank capacity is 257.04 gallons.
