Dual-Helm Navigation

The 2003 Pacific Seacraft 38T Fast Trawler combines a flybridge helm with an interior helm positioned forward to starboard. The lower helm includes a side-deck door, while the flybridge is sheltered by a navy canvas bimini and three-sided enclosure.

The navigation suite includes Garmin GPSMAP 1242xsv touch radar/plotters at the upper helm and lower helm, a Garmin GPSMAP 742 touchscreen plotter, Garmin GMR Fantom 18 dome radar, a Vesper XB-8000 AIS transponder package, Simrad AP22 autopilot, B&G network depth and speed instrumentation, a Ritchie compass, and a Standard Horizon RAM Mic VHF radio.

Salon and Galley Arrangement

The main cabin places an L-shaped dinette with a teak table and folding leaves to port, with a matching settee to starboard. Teak cabinetry and teak-and-holly soles continue through the interior, while upgraded cushions serve the salon, forward cabin, and aft cabin.

The galley is arranged aft in the main cabin and includes a Force 10 three-burner propane stove with oven and broiler, custom maple stovetop cutting board, GE microwave, Virtifrigo AC/DC refrigerator/freezer, Icer-ette ice maker, polished stainless-steel double sink, and solid-surface counters with teak edge trim.

Two-Cabin Accommodation

The aft cabin is reached by four steps from the main cabin and contains an athwartships island berth, hanging locker, shelves, drawers, and an en-suite head with a Sealand Vacuflush toilet and stall shower. The forward cabin contains a V-berth, double hanging locker, storage beneath the berths, and a separate head with a Sealand Vacuflush toilet and pull-out shower.

The 2003 Pacific Seacraft 38T Fast Trawler has two cabins and two heads. The entertainment system combines a Fusion three-zone stereo with speakers in the flybridge, salon, and aft cabin, alongside two Visio flat-panel televisions and onboard Wi-Fi equipment.

Machinery and Onboard Systems

Twin Caterpillar 3126TA diesel engines provide propulsion, and the engine room is accessible from the aft cabin and salon deck. The machinery installation includes a Glendinning engine synchronizer, Racor dual fuel filters, a fuel crossover system, Bennett hydraulic trim tabs, PSS shaft seals, an oil-change system for both engines and generator, and four bilge pumps.

A Fischer Panda 8 kW generator in a sound shield, Xantrex inverter/charger, Newmar battery charger, 525-watt solar array with Victron controllers and smart shunt, and 30-amp AC shore-power inlets support the electrical system. Marine Air reverse-cycle air conditioning is rated at 32,000 BTU, and an Espar D8L heating system serves five outlets.

Deck Equipment and Access

The exterior arrangement includes a swim platform, transom door, port and starboard bulwark boarding doors, polished stainless-steel rails, and a tabernacled mast and boom. A Muir VRC 1200 electric windlass is operated by two foot buttons or remotes at the flybridge and lower helm.

The deck is equipped with an ULTRA 46 lb. stainless-steel anchor, raw-water anchor washdown, aft raw-water washdown, foredeck fresh-water washdown, hot-and-cold water washdown at the transom, and an aft deck shower. An aluminum-hulled RIB and Honda outboard form the tender package.
