Vessel overview
The 2001 Tayana 55 combines a deck saloon profile with a ketch rig and in-boom furling. The deck saloon brings natural light into the interior, while the rig is arranged for managed sail handling.
At 55 feet overall, the Tayana carries a 16.08-foot beam. Its published draft range is 5.92 to 10 feet, and bridge clearance is 64 feet.
The ground-tackle arrangement includes an upgraded windlass, a 110 lb Bruce anchor, a custom chain brake and a snubber. Four additional anchors are carried aboard.
A bow thruster supports close-quarters manoeuvring, and the helm arrangement provides clear visibility for docking.
The interior includes a galley and two bathrooms. The engine room is arranged for direct access.
A valve at the seawater intake can route water from the galley sink drain for freshwater flushing. Propulsion is supplied by a 140 hp Yanmar 4LH-HTE diesel engine.
The 2001 Tayana 55 is located in Greenport, New York.
