Vessel overview
The 1985 Custom Explorer was built for Belgian government hydrographic survey service, giving the yacht a working-vessel foundation beneath its later cruising conversion.
Its interior was modernized during a 2022 refit in Belgium. The cabins received air-conditioning and new furniture, while the passenger area gained new ensuite bathrooms. A laundry and televisions were added, including televisions for crew spaces, and the navigation equipment was upgraded.
The aft deck was cleared of unnecessary equipment during the refit, creating an adaptable working area. The deck accommodates equipment and operations associated with a submarine, ROV launch-and-recovery systems and air diving arrangements.
An 8 m by 4 m aft boarding platform extends the yacht’s waterside arrangement.
The Custom Explorer retains two survey launches and carries a large 300 hp RIB, a smaller 50 hp RIB and two jet skis. A water slide forms part of the onboard leisure equipment.
The steel hull measures 162.57 ft overall, with a 31.5 ft beam and a maximum draft of 10.66 ft. The propulsion system comprises two Anglo Belgian Corp engines, with a cruising speed of 10.5 knots and a maximum speed of 13 knots.
The fuel tank holds 13,208.61 gal, while the water tank holds 11,095.23 gal. The 1985 Custom Explorer is located in Hammamet, Tunisia.
